The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center (LVAC) is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to supporting artists and strengthening Kansas City’s creative community through exhibitions, education, public programs, artist opportunities, and access to the arts. For more than four decades, LVAC has provided a place where artists can create, exhibit, connect, and contribute to Kansas City’s cultural landscape. Rooted in Jim Leedy’s vision for Leedyville as an artist-centered community, LVAC continues that tradition by providing opportunities for artists and meaningful experiences for the public.

To be a thriving, accessible art center for artists and the community, a place where artists have opportunities to create, exhibit, connect, and flourish, and where everyone can experience and participate in the arts.

Purpose
To continue the vision Jim Leedy established in 1985 by providing a place where artists and the community can come together through art.

Exhibitions — opportunities for emerging, established, and regional artists to exhibit their work

Leedyville Studio Artists — affordable studio spaces where artists can create, work, and connect

Education & Workshops — classes, workshops, talks, and learning opportunities

Public Programs & Community Engagement — artist talks, panels, events, partnerships, and programs that connect artists with the public

Legacy Artists — recognizing artists who have been part of Leedyville or LVAC

Legacy Resources — resources and support that help artists develop and sustain their creative practices

Kansas City Artist Library — a resource connecting artists, researchers, students, and the public

Preserving Leedyville — working in partnership with the Leedy Foundation to honor and preserve the history and vision of the community Jim Leedy created
