The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center Shop blurs the line between a gallery setting and retail shop.

The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center Shop hosts a variety of work from nearly 40
artists – most of whom are from the Kansas City area. The intent is for the shop to be accessible in both format and price. We seek to promote the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center Shop and the Crossroads district as a shopping destination, both during the First Friday openings and beyond.

Are you are a creator of local handmade goods? Would you like for us to consider selling your work on consignment in our gift shop? If so, please fill out the application form below and submit for consideration:

Patricia O’Brien

Patricia O’Brien currently resides in the Ozark area of Missouri. O’Brien grew up in the southwest and from an early age developed an appreciation for nature. She has been making her miniature dioramas showcasing beautiful landscapes with a humorous twist for around three decades. O’Brien’s work has been included in group exhibitions in the Kansas City and upstate New York. In 2017, she was featured on Artnet News highlighting her work in the group  show “Wee#Resist”. In 2021, an escape piece was included in the book Painting on Porch by 57w57 Arts, New York, NY.

Artist statement:

The tinyescapes are created with antique postcards and model train figurines. They combine  O’Brien’s ideal world in nature, often with a dark humorous twist. Each piece is created for the viewer to imagine their own story for their “tiny escape”.
