Debbie Barrett-Jones is a Kansas City textile artist whose work is rooted in the long tradition of weaving. From her studio in the lower level of the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, she creates handwoven textiles that connect contemporary practice with generations of makers who have worked at the loom before her.

Throughline: At the Loom brings together finished works alongside pieces that reveal the process behind them. The exhibition includes completed handwoven textiles, deconstructed works that expose different stages of making, and pattern studies displayed alongside the loom itself, offering a closer look at how woven structures develop.

Also, included is Woven Together, a collaborative landscape-weaving project that invites visitors to become part of the work. Frame looms will be available to the public for weaving sections of the landscape, transforming the piece into a collective creation shaped by many hands.

Presented alongside the national PBS release of Made with Love, which explores the enduring tradition of weaving, the exhibition celebrates weaving as a living practice that continues to evolve in the hands of contemporary artists while remaining connected to its rich history.
